Class Detail

An examination of the history and mechanisms of evolutionary change. Topics include molecular evolution, natural and sexual selection, adaptation, speciation, biogeography, and macroevolution.

Prerequisite(s): satisfaction of the Entry Level Writing and Composition requirements; BIOL 20A, BIOE 20B, BIOE 20C, and BIOL 105.

UCSC Students - If you completed the prerequisites but get an error message, contact the department for approval to enroll - eebadvising@ucsc.edu. Provide proof of prerequisite material. From the department: Students enrolled in the BIOL 105 prerequisite during the 8-Week Summer Session are not eligible to enroll in BIOE 109 in Session 2.
If you need to take the prerequisite in Session 1, enroll in that course first, then email summer@ucsc.edu for a permission number to enroll in this course.
