Class Detail

Laboratory experience in organic chemistry associated with CHEM 8A. Designed to introduce the student to the many techniques associated with organic chemistry while affording an opportunity to explore the concepts discussed in the lecture material. Laboratory: 4 hours, lecture: 1-1/4 hours.

Prerequisite(s): CHEM 1C, CHEM 3C, or CHEM 4B; and either CHEM 1N, CHEM 3CL, or CHEM 4BL. Previous or concurrent enrollment in CHEM 8A is required.

Enroll in the lab and associated secondary lab.
The official wait lists for courses with required, co-requisite, credit-bearing labs are based on the wait lists for the lab sections only.
Waitlist the CHEM 3BL section first. You cannot enroll in the lecture until you have successfully been enrolled in the co-requisite lab section. If you have already passed the lab and only need the lecture, and get an error message, email summer@ucsc.edu for enrollment support.
