Elementary mechanics. Vectors, Newton's laws, inverse square force laws, work and energy, conservation of momentum and energy, and oscillations.
Enrollment Requirements
Prerequisite(s): MATH 19A or MATH 20A. Concurrent enrollment in PHYS 5L, and either MATH 19B or MATH 20B, is required.

Enrollment in the Associated Discussion is Mandatory.
All students - If you completed the prerequisites but get an error message, email your proof of prerequisite material to the department at physicsadvising@ucsc.edu for approval to enroll.
If you DO NOT have the prerequisite material, please contact the instructor--Barun Dhar, bdhar@ucsc.edu-- for permission to enroll in their class.
If you need the PHYS 5L lab and it is full, waitlist the lab section first. You cannot enroll in the lecture until you have successfully enrolled in the co-requisite lab section. Enroll in the lecture portion of the course after you have enrolled in the lab.
