Global Cities of the Twentieth and Twenty-first Centuries: A tour of global cities and the experimental literatures that have emerged from them, moving from Berlin to Paris to Mumbai to New Delhi to Accra to S?o Paulo to Rio de Janeiro to Mexico City to London to Los Angeles. This course will also engage theories of urban life from canonical metropolitan works to the ways these theories have been challenged in the wake of colonial and postcolonial experiences of the city
