Class Detail

Applications-oriented class on ordinary differential equations (ODEs) and systems of ODEs using Matlab as a computational support tool. Covers linear ODEs and systems of linear ODEs; nonlinear ODEs using substitution and Laplace transforms; phase-plane analysis; introduction to numerical methods. Students cannot receive credit for this course and MATH 24.

Prerequisite(s): MATH 19B or MATH 20B, and AM 10 or MATH 21.

From the instructor: Enroll in lecture and associated discussion section. Attendance will contribute 5% to your grades. So not mandatory, but highly recommended, and there is a slight penalty for missing a lot of lectures. The final exam for this course will be administered online through a proctoring service or on Zoom by the instructor and teaching assistants. Students may opt to take the final exam in a classroom on campus during the last week of the session. Students will not be charged for online proctoring.
