Description

Introduces students to fundamental accounting principles and practices. Key topics include reviewing the accounting cycle, preparing basic financial statements, and integrating data analysis tools to interpret and analyze financial statement data. Course improves students' financial literacy skills by illustrating how financial statements are used by external parties such as bankers, creditors, investors, and others who have a desire and/or need to learn more about the financial information of business organizations.

Class Notes

From the Instructor: This class requires purchase of McGraw-Hill Software Connect.
The course requires online proctoring vendor (ProctorU) for both midterm and final exam (mandatory).
This course is intensive (covering three to four chapters per week). You cannot skip the first week or several days.
You should not schedule vacation or other absences during the summer session.
If this class is a prerequisite for a Session 2 course, email summer@ucsc.edu after you enroll to get a permission number to add your Session 2 course.
