Summer 2024 will be the last term in which previous statistics prerequisites may potentially be used to qualify for ECON 113. Permission Code Eligibility:
UCSC Students - (1) If you declared your economics major before fall 2022 and have completed and passed the former ECON 113 statistics prerequisite and all other 113 prerequisites, then you may contact
ecugradv@ucsc.edu to request a permission code for ECON 113-02. (2) If you declared your TIM or ENVS-ECON major before fall 2023, and have completed and passed the former ECON 113 statistics prerequisite and all other 113 prerequisites, then you may contact
ecugradv@ucsc.edu to request a permission code for ECON 113-02. If your sample plan advises you to take STAT 17/17L, then you are not eligible for a permission code to bypass that prerequisite for this course.
Visiting Students - email your proof of prerequisite material to the instructor for approval to enroll, Hyunjin Yun,
hyun8@ucsc.edu, with the subject: Summer Econ 113.
If you need to take the prerequisite in Session 1, enroll in that course first, then email
summer@ucsc.edu for a permission number to enroll in this course.
From the Department: This is a challenging course for students during the regular-paced term and especially over the accelerated 5-week term. Students are advised not to have other competing priorities during the session. Students are required to install Stata, a statistical program for data analysis.
