Class Notes
All students can enroll - restrictions waived in summer.
From the Instructor: Topic: Fan Fiction: Adaptations and Retellings. Open to all students, not restricted to creative writing literature majors. In this course, we will read feminist, queer, and post-colonial retellings of "canonical" texts, pop culture, and history that occur under the genre of fan fiction. Students will write creative/critical responses to the readings and develop works of fan fiction of their own. During class time, there will be individual writing time, small group work, large group discussion, and mini-lectures as well as breaks.
