Description
A course of guidance and exercises to assist in developing independent writing projects, and a group setting for critique and feedback. Students do in-class and out-of-class writing assignments; read and discuss texts; and work to develop a final project. May be repeated for credit.
Class Notes
All Students - restrictions are lifted in summer. Everyone is invited: UCSC students at all levels, high school students, UCSC staff and faculty, and community members have all found that the course supports their creative process. No prior experience with creative writing is required. The course is in person: You will listen to and participate in short lectures on the craft of writing, engage in writing workshops with other class members, do writing exercises to jump-start new work, and give a final reading at the end of class.
