Description
Gives students a comprehensive understanding of the digital painting, from basic techniques, to new media art and industry application, to how these programs operate. Studies and assignments develop and expand skills of digital paint application. Students build a cumulative digital portfolio of all of the studies and assignments completed throughout the course.
May be repeated for credit.
Class Notes
From the Instructor: Students watch lectures & demos on their own and can attend optional office hours on Zoom for help and guidance on assignments. There are no required synchronous meetings for this course. Required materials include: a computer or tablet that can run Adobe Photoshop and a way to draw with your device (tablet, mouse, or trackpad). Check system requirements for running Adobe CC here: https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/system-requirements.html. Adobe CC software is FREE as an active UCSC student. Assumes 30 hours per week of coursework.
