Description
Explores historical and contemporary ways in which photography has been used to examine social issues and invites students to produce work that responds to issues that are important to them. Students learn about photograph's historical significance in raising social awareness, analyzing the aesthetic and methodological strategies of modern and contemporary photographers seeking to catalyze economic, political and cultural change through the production of images. May be repeated for credit.
Enrollment Requirements
Prerequisite(s): ART 20I and ART 156; and two courses from ART 15, ART 20G, ART 20H, ART 20J, ART 20K, ART 20L, ART 26. Enrollment is restricted to art majors.
Class Notes
All Students - prerequisites and restrictions lifted in summer. It is not advisable to take more than one studio in a session. No materials fee this summer.
