Description
Introduces basic skills and conceptual development in photography and related digital media through image-making in the field, on the web, and in laboratories, through readings, discussions, and critiques. Students are billed for a materials fee.
Enrollment Requirements
Prerequisite(s): two courses from ART 10D, ART 10E, ART 10F. Enrollment is restricted to proposed art and art majors.
Class Notes
All students - prerequisites and restrictions lifted in summer. It is not advisable to take more than one studio in a session. Students not charged a materials fee this summer. You need access to your own digital camera.
Camera DSLR (digital single lens reflex) or Mirrorless camera that includes manual exposure controls for: ISO, f/stop, Shutter Speed and Manual Color Temperature, along with manual focus controls are ideal, including RAW capability with at least 12 megapixel capacity. Point and shoot (with fixed lenses) must also have manual controls and can be reviewed by Professor at the start of course for approval but are not preferred. Cell phone cameras are not acceptable for use in this course. No materials fee this summer.
