The second half is spent doing independent study projects. A great opportunity to get outside and get 5 credits for a summer field course! Email jogsmith@ucsc.edu with questions." Visiting Students - prerequisites are lifted in summer. Metro Route 3 bus operates ~6 times each day between downtown Santa Cruz and the Coastal Science Campus. Students are billed a $40 materials fee.
