OpenDescription
Explores the political and economic systems of advanced industrialized societies. In addition to specific comparisons between the countries of western Europe and the United States, covers important themes and challenges, including immigration, globalization, and the crisis of the welfare state.
Enrollment Requirements
Prerequisite(s): satisfaction of the Entry Level Writing and Composition requirements. Prerequisites waived for non-UCSC students.
Class Notes
This course is completely online. Students watch lectures on their own and meet via videoconference for required discussion sections: Tues 6-7pm, Weds 9-10pm, Thurs 12-1pm.
In summer, all prerequisites and restrictions are lifted.
