Description

In the global North and South, inequalities in water and sanitation are issues of justice as much as income. One billion people worldwide lack safe water, 2.5 billion lack basic sanitation. Course explores: North-South comparison, water governance, human rights, poverty, climate justice, irrigation, and more.

Class Notes

This course was originally advertised as a Global Classrooms course linked with a university classroom in Canada. Due to unforeseen circumstances, we will not be able to work with our Canadian partner this Fall. We will still, however, offer this course focusing on various theoretical and practical aspects of water and sanitation justice. For more information on Global Classrooms, review their website: https://global.ucsc.edu/partnerships/initiatives/global-classrooms/index.html. This course is offered online asynchronously.
