Description
Students gain proficiency in illustration media, and acquire training in the essential skills needed to create natural-history inspired illustrations. Students create illustrations and paintings by studying organisms in the Norris Center for Natural History collections, as well as those living on and around campus. Some experience in basic drawing and/or natural-history sketching is recommended. Students are billed a materials fee.
Class Notes
"This course will consist of lessons and technique tutorials (remotely). Students will practice techniques and develop illustrations of natural history subjects. Students will be encouraged to create illustrations that explore and illustrate nature wherever they are, and also create illustrations of current natural history research topics. There will be a few online discussions or ""critiques"" where the students will share their work with each other.
No materials fee this summer. Students will need to buy their materials."
