Enrollment Requirements
Prerequisite(s): FILM 120, FILM 130, FILM 132A, FILM 132B, FILM 132C, FILM 134A, or FILM 134B.
Class Notes
Docu-fiction film explores cinematic styles that call into question traditional categories of fiction and documentary: hybrid films, documentary reenactments, improvisational fictions, mockumentary, neorealism. Through screenings and critical readings students will investigate the aesthetics, ethics and politics of these boundary-breaking films. In summer, all prerequisites and restrictions are lifted. FILM 20A, 20B or 20C or previous college-level coursework in film studies, art, or literature is strongly recommended.
