Description
Focus on teaching intermediate to advanced students the processes and techniques of direct metal fabrication for contemporary sculpture and design. Explores a range of welding, cutting, and forming techniques and processes through demonstrations, slide lectures, field trips, and studio time. Demonstrations, slide lectures, and critical discussion of work help develop technical and conceptual skills. Students are billed a materials fee. May be repeated for credit.
Enrollment Requirements
Prerequisite(s): One course from Art 20H, 120,121, 122, 124, 125, 129, 172, 180B, 188, or 189; and two non-sculpture/intermedia/public art lower-division studios from Art 15, 20G, 20I, 20J, 20K, 26, and Computational Media 25. Restricted to art majors.
